Former India captain Rohit Sharma arrived at The Oval in London on Saturday, July 2, to watch India’s fifth and final Test against England. Following an amazing first two days, Day 3 promises to be just as exciting, with the series tied 2-1 in favour of the home team.
Rohit Sharma was set to head the team in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025.
He led India’s previous Test match against Australia in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. However, he had been failing to score runs in the longer format for some time.
In the middle of the Indian Premier League (IPL), he surprised the cricket world by announcing his departure from the red-ball format. He announced his decision on May 7 via his official social media profile.
On Saturday, it was fantastic to see him back at a cricket stadium, although as a spectator. A video of him entering the legendary stadium has gone viral online.

Akash Deep scores maiden international half-century
Deep was unbeaten on 0 in the first innings as he saw India’s last three wickets falling from the other end. However, in the second innings, he was promoted to No. 4 as a nightwatchman at the fag end of Day 2. He was not out on four at Stumps.
In the first over of Day 3, he made his intentions clear as he launched Jacob Bethell for a boundary through mid-wicket. The Bengal seamer mixed caution with aggression to get his maiden international half-century. Apart from his personal milestone, his partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal has been of massive importance for India as they look to bat England out of the Test match.
