Rohit Sharma, India’s ODI captain, was recently spotted waving at one of his fans while trapped in Mumbai traffic. Rohit thanked a fan and gave a thumbs-up while driving his recently purchased Lamborghini Urus SE.
The cricketer has been enjoying his hiatus from the game, spending quality time with his family. His most recent addition to his automobile collection, a Lamborghini Urus SE at more than INR 4.5 crore, has sparked widespread interest. The 38-year-old was driving his second Lamborghini Urus, which was completed in a striking Arancio Argos (orange).
His new Lamborghini includes the special number plate ‘3015’, which reflects the birth dates of his daughter Samaira (December 30, 2018) and son Ahaan (November 15, 2024). Interestingly, the combination of 30 and 15 is 45, which is also his iconic Indian jersey number.
Notably, his blue Lamborghini Urus carried the number ‘264’, which represented his world-record ODI score against Sri Lanka in 2014. Earlier this year, the Nagpur native even gave the car to a Dream11 contest winner. Meanwhile, the event occurred on Saturday morning, when Rohit drove his car for a spin and became stopped in traffic.

Rohit Sharma to feature in India tour of Australia
Interestingly, the speculation around his retirement alongside Virat Kohli has also been in the news. However, BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla dismissed such rumors, clarifying that both stalwarts will continue playing ODIs.
“When did they retire? Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli both will still play ODIs, so if they are still playing, then why talk about farewell now? Why are you people worrying already? Our policy is very clear. BCCI never tells any player to retire. He has to take his own decision. He himself has to take this call,” said Shukla as quoted by India Today.
Both players were last seen representing India in the Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai, where they played important roles in India’s title-winning campaign. Both players will next be seen in the series against Australia later this year.
