In a horrible occurrence in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region, a blast at the Kausar Cricket Ground in Khar killed at least one person and injured many more. According to sources, the bomb occurred around the evening of Saturday, September 6. A police constable and a citizen called Najeeb Khan were among those hurt, and a vehicle parked close was also hit.
The local district’s police officers stated that the bomb was a pre-planned and targeted crime designed to instill fear in the community. However, the police’s quick efforts assisted the injured in being transported to the hospital(s) in Khar. According to Bajaur District public relations officer Israr Khan, the terrorists attempted to launch another attack on the spot but were unsuccessful since they missed their target.
The Bajaur District Police Officer Waqas Rafique notified that the act of terrorism was carried out using an improvised explosive device (IED). “It appears to be a targeted attack,” Rafique told as quoted by Moneycontrol.

Such horrific acts have historically led to Pakistan losing the status of hosting any international matches.
The infamous terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus during their tour to the country in 2009. For a long time after, Pakistan had to host its home games in the United Arab Emirates, which was after several major cricketing nations decided not to travel to a country where terrorist activities are frequent.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has, however, regained the trust of countries and even hosted multinational events like the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025. Next up, the Men in Green will also be hosting South Africa for a multi-format series, starting October 16. The PCB and security personnel will be keeping their eyes and ears open to avoid any security threat to the visiting team.
