Saim Ayub was removed for a silver duck in Match 10 of the Asia Cup 2025 between the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, September 17, as the UAE scored in the first over after deciding to field first.
The left-handed batter swung hard at a short and wide delivery that was coming across him. The ball hit the outer edge of the willow and landed directly in the hands of Muhammad Rohid at third man. The ball was not a wicket-taking one, but Ayub was forced to go back after failing once more.

Saim Ayub woes continued in the current installment of the continental event.
Before this encounter, he had been dismissed while facing his first ball on two occasions: LBW against Oman and caught at point against India. The southpaw failed to provide a start for his side once again, this time in a do-or-die clash against the hosts.
Siddique also dismissed Ayub’s opening partner Sahibzada Farhan (5 off 12) in his next over to leave Pakistan at 9/2 in 2.4 overs. The ball was pitched on a hard length and cramped Farhan for room. He lifted his front leg a little and tugged his shot in the air. Muhammad Zohaib at deep square leg hung onto a juggling attempt to send Farhan back to the pavilion.
