The West Indies roster for the forthcoming bilateral T20I series with Nepal has been confirmed. The Cricket West Indies (CWI) has named all-rounder Akeal Hosein as captain of the 15-man squad, while mainstay skipper Shai Hope has been rested, along with several other regulars. Up to six new faces could make their series debut, as new names have appeared in the contingent, where Rayon Griffith will serve as head coach.
The series will be contested in the UAE, which is also hosting the Asia Cup 2025. However, Sharjah, which has not hosted any matches in the continental tournament, has been chosen as the venue for all three games in the historic first-ever series between the West Indies and Nepal.
Akeal Hosein’s squad also contains experienced combatants such as Jason Holder and Obed McCoy.
“This series against Nepal is another important step in broadening the horizons of West Indies cricket. It allows our senior men’s team to engage with a passionate emerging nation while providing invaluable match experience in different conditions,” CWI Director of Cricket, Miles Bascombe, said in an official statement on Wednesday, September 17.
“Beyond the immediate competition, this tour speaks to our long-term vision of developing a squad that is adaptable, resilient and ready for global challenges. Taking West Indies cricket into new territories and against new opposition also helps us grow the game, inspire new fans, and strengthen the brand of West Indies cricket worldwide,” Bascombe added.
