India Women defeated Australia Women by 102 runs in the second one-day international of the three-match series on Wednesday, September 17, at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh. The Australians were dismissed for 190 in 40.5 overs, chasing 292.
In terms of the match’s outcome, Smriti Mandhana scored 117 runs off 91 balls before being removed on the second delivery of the 32nd over of the first innings.
Deepti Sharma (40 off 53) was the hosts’ second-highest run-getter, helping them reach 292. The opposition’s most successful bowler was Darcie Brown (3/42 in eight overs).
Neither of Annabel Sutherland (45 off 42) or Ellyse Perry (44 off 61) capitalised on their starts in an otherwise underwhelming batting effort. Tahlia McGrath, Ashleigh Gardner and Beth Mooney scored 16, 17 and 18, respectively. Every bowler from India got at least one wicket to their name while Kranti Goud secured a three-wicket haul (3/28 in 9.5 overs) to her name.
