Tanzid Hasan was dismissed in the first over of the second innings in Sri Lanka’s Asia Cup 2025 Super-Four match against Bangladesh on Saturday, September 20 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
The in-form Nuwan Thushara dismissed Bangladesh’s opener for a two-ball duck.
Sri Lanka batted first after Litton Das won the toss and decided to field. Dasun Shanaka had a standout performance, blasting 64 off 37 balls, including three fours and six sixes. Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, and Charith Asalanka all contributed to the Lankan Lions’ 168/7 total after 20 overs.
In response, Sri Lanka would have hoped for a solid start with the ball. Thushara, who had removed Tanzid for a six-ball duck in the opening over of Sri Lanka’s Group B match against Bangladesh, got rid of the southpaw yet again.
While Thushara bowled Tanzid with an in-swinger in the last match, he surprised the 24-year-old with a well-disguised slower delivery this time around. Tanzid walked down the track, searching for a boundary. However, he failed to pick the off-cutter, and the ball flew past the bat, knocking out the top of the off-stump.
