Cricket South Africa has announced its squad for the Hong Kong Sixes 2025. The Proteas have won the title five times: in 1995, 2006, 2009, 2012, and 2017. The competition will be place at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong from November 7 to 9.
Jordan Morris, a 26-year-old all-rounder, has been named team captain. Jorich van Schalkwyk, a South African Under-19 and Titans batter, is also on the squad. Van Schalkwyk recently made headlines for becoming the first batter to reach a double century at the U-19 level, which he accomplished against Zimbabwe.
Meanwhile, Boland’s Ethan Cunningham and Western Province’s Kashief Joseph give depth to the batting lineup, while Western Province’s Abdallah Bayoumi and Dolphins’ Blake Simpson provide variety. Mbulelo Dube, another Western Province player, will lead the team’s bowling attack.
All in all, this year’s seven-member squad has a mixed blend of youthful talent and experience. The South Africans will be expected to make a mark at the adrenaline-charged tournament and will be expected to be one of the strong contenders too.
