The underworld has reportedly threatened India’s star hitter Rinku Singh.
The Mumbai Crime Branch’s inquiry found that the cricketer received threats from the renowned Dawood Ibrahim gang (D-company).
It is understood that Rinku Singh promotional team received three different ransom demands between February and April of this year. The D-company members have requested a total of INR 5 crore.
A few suspects have been captured in the West Indies. The two accused, Mohammed Dilshad and Mohammed Naveed, were turned over to Indian police on August 1. The suspects were previously detained after seeking a ransom of INR 10 crore from late former MLA Baba Siddiqui’s son Zeeshan Siddiqui. According to a TV9 investigation, one of them admitted to speaking with Rinku’s staff about the sum of money.
Rinku Singh, who is from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, comes from a very humble home. Rinku’s family faced numerous financial hardships throughout his childhood. Rinku has faced numerous off-the-field problems despite his success in cricket. He’s also increased his protection since marrying MP Priya Saroj.
Rinku was recently a part of India’s Asia Cup 2025 squad. He was brought in directly into the final in place of the injured Hardik Pandya. Rinku hit the winning runs via a boundary in the final over of the game to enable the Men in Blue past the finish line.
Previously, Rinku was a part of Kolkata Knight Riders during IPL 2025. He registered 206 runs in 13 matches (11 innings) at a strike rate of 153.73. Rinku has been a part of KKR’s lineup since seven seasons now. He was recently selected for the T20I squad for the upcoming white-ball series against Australia.
