Virat Kohli, India’s standout batter, drew attention ahead of the first ODI of the three-match series against Australia at Perth’s Optus Stadium. As Team India completed their second day of practice, the 36-year-old was observed in a calm, lighthearted attitude, laughing and smiling alongside his colleagues.
Virat Kohli is preparing to return to international cricket for India after a seven-month absence.
The former India captain, who last participated in the Champions Trophy earlier this year, was excited when he returned to the national team.
Star Sports posted a video on X that revealed the cricketer’s lighter side. In the video, the veteran enjoys every minute of the session, laughing and engaging in fun shenanigans. He was spotted laughing alongside Arshdeep Singh, KL Rahul, Axar Patel, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Harshit Rana.

Meanwhile, after the practice, the modern-day great obliged several fans with autographs and selfies. Kohli, who has a brilliant record of 1327 runs in 29 ODIs in Australia at an average of over 51, will be eager to extend that tally and help India script a series win Down Under. Furthermore, Australian opener Travis Head spoke about Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s return to international cricket after a gap of seven months.
“They have been awesome for India, I guess Axar can speak more highly about them than I. But [they are] two quality players, two of the great white-ball players. Virat is probably the greatest white-ball player. Rohit is probably not far behind,” Head told the media.
