The United States’ LaGrange Cricket Holdings recently unveiled plans for a state-of-the-art 10,500-seater stadium in LaGrange, Georgia, just 50 minutes south of Atlanta.
The project represents a major boost in cricket infrastructure in the Southeast and is the first privately owned cricket stadium in the country.
Over the past few years, American cricket has undergone various changes. The success of Major League Cricket (MLC) with its Dallas-based stadium and the rise of Minor League Cricket have led to infrastructure growth across the nation. Building on this momentum, LaGrange Cricket Holdings CEO and President Keval Patel has taken a step to bring world-class cricket to Georgia. The upcoming LaGrange Cricket Stadium looks to be more than just a sporting venue; it’s envisioned as a multi-purpose sports and entertainment place capable of hosting international fixtures, league matches, and large-scale community events.
Set across a 45-acre parcel along the I-85 corridor, the stadium will feature 10,500 permanent seats, expandable to 25,000 for global tournaments. The design-led by Atlanta-based TVS Design, the firm behind the Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Mumbai’s Jio World Centre, along with cutting-edge architecture with local cultural influence. The estimated USD 50 million stadium will be part of a USD 100 million mixed-use development known as Sola, which also includes hotels, restaurants, and retail outlets. Patel described the project as a world-class space built around cricket.
“This isn’t just about cricket. This is an ecosystem that we’re creating, a world-class stadium designed for international competition, a boutique hotel for players, visitors and event guests, a vibrant sports bar where fans gather to cheer, eat and celebrate, retail, recreation, community events all orbiting around the beating heart of this venue. This is cricket and so much more, with matches that will bring in thousands,” said Patel.
The stadium’s design stresses both functionality and fan engagement. Its intimate bowl structure will bring spectators closer to the action, while a cantilevered roof canopy provides shade and comfort. Modular east and west stands provide flexibility for concerts, festivals, and other major gatherings. The venue will also feature open-air concourses, club lounges, and accessible community areas to encourage year-round activity. TVS Principal Robert Svedberg called the project a milestone for cricket fans across the Southeast, stating how the design will mix comfort, connection, and adaptability.
Meanwhile, Keval Patel, a long-time cricket fan and New Jersey resident, earlier attempted to build a cricket venue in the Northeast faced regulatory hurdles. With LaGrange, Patel already invested heavily in permits, architectural plans, and legal fees.
The project’s location was strategically chosen for its accessibility and climate. With proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and mild weather year-round, LaGrange is seen as an ideal base for cricket’s southern expansion. The venue will comply with International Cricket Council (ICC) standards, enabling it to host global tournaments, including potential World Cup matches.
