The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has announced a 26-man roster for the forthcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Nitish Rana has been named captain, succeeding Ayush Badoni, who will play as a specialist batter.
While 26 players have been named, the fast-bowling trio of Ishant Sharma, Harshit Rana, and Navdeep Saini will play based on their availability. Ankit Rajesh Kumar and Yash Bhatia, on the other hand, have been called up to the squad following outstanding U-23 performances.
Digvesh Rathi, who enjoyed a breakout season for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) earlier this year, is one of the squad’s most noteworthy absences. He outperformed the experienced Ravi Bishnoi, taking 14 wickets in 13 matches with an average of 30.64 and an economy rate of 8.25. Other IPL talents on the squad include Suyash Sharma, Simarjeet Singh, Anuj Rawat, and Prince Yadav.
Delhi is placed in Elite Group D of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and will play all of its matches in Ahmedabad. Uttarakhand, Tripura, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Saurashtra, and Tamil Nadu are the remaining teams in the group. Rana and Co. will begin their assault against Jharkhand.
Delhi recently drew with Rajasthan in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy at the Madan Paliwal Miraj Sports Centre. They are ranked sixth in the group, with eight points from five matches. They have yet to win a match in the country’s top domestic red-ball competition.
