The former described it as a “stamp of authority” moment, praising Gill for handling captaincy pressure, a new batting position, and the toughest touring conditions, while scripting India’s first-ever win at the venue.

Her ton took India over the line, with the hosts eventually winning the title for the first time in history.
Pathan’s list witnessed Rohit Sharma featuring at No. 3 for his leadership and batting across major tournaments. He stated Rohit’s Champions Trophy-winning captaincy, his Man of the Match performance in the final, and his approach in the Australia white-ball tour.
At No. 2 was Virat Kohli, whose back-to-back centuries against South Africa stood out. Pathan praised Kohli’s ability to answer form-related questions with the bat, noting his adaptability, fitness at 37, and game awareness. According to him, Kohli once again proved why he remains irreplaceable in one-day cricket.
