Pacer Mohsin Khan will join the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for the remainder of the 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2023. Due to a shoulder injury, the left-arm pacer was sidelined and inaccessible to the general public.
Previously, it was believed that the pacer would miss the majority of the current season after undergoing shoulder surgery to remove blood clots. In addition, the franchise selected veteran left-arm bowler Jaydev Unadkat as a replacement at the December mini-auction.
According to ANI, the medical staff has deemed the pacer fit, and he will now re-join the LSG camp for the remainder of their campaign. LSG have further strengthened their pace bowling attack with the addition of Mohsin Khan, who joins Mark Wood, Unadkat, Avesh Khan, Naveen-ul-Haq, Yash Thakur, and Mayank Yadav.
Mohsin Khan will participate in future matches for the Lucknow Super Giants.
In 2022, LSG paid 20 lakh rupees to acquire the pacer, who had been on the reserve for Mumbai Indians in 2018. Mohsin Khan was given the responsibility of bowling during the powerplay and death overs during the 2022 season.
In addition, the pacer had a respectable first season, taking 14 wickets in nine appearances for the team. In addition to his best bowling figures of 4/16, he finished the season with an economy rate of 5.97.
As he returns to action for the remainder of the IPL 2023 season, Mohsin Khan will attempt to ply his craft and put forth his best effort, similar to how he performed in the previous edition. LSG will likely rely on him towards the conclusion of matches in the hopes that he can deliver for the team. Mohsin Khan inclusion in the KL Rahul-led squad’s playing XI for their upcoming match against the Rajasthan Royals on April 19 remains to be seen.
