In a recent development in the ongoing Indian Premier League IPL 2023, the 46th game of the tournament, which was originally slated to take place on May 4 between the Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings, has been rescheduled to accommodate the Lucknow Municipal Corporation elections, which are also scheduled to take place on that day.
The IPL management has chosen to postpone the game to Wednesday, May 3, where it will take place in the afternoon time slot, in order to accommodate the need for the state machinery to be engaged in guaranteeing the smooth conduct of the elections.
Notably, the game was initially scheduled to take place at 3:30 p.m.
On May 4 and 11, the urban governing council elections in the capital city of Lucknow will be held in two phases, with voters selecting representatives for 17 municipal corporations, 199 municipal councils, and 439 nagar panchayats. On May 13, the results for the same would be announced.
On April 19, Lucknow Super Giants will play Rajasthan Royals.
When the Lucknow Super Giants go to Jaipur to face the tournament leaders Rajasthan Royals on April 19, they will be hoping to continue their great run.
LSG would be coming into the game off of a narrow loss they suffered against Punjab Kings in their last match. The achievement of form by their renowned slipper KL Rahul was the team’s bright spot in the game, though. Rahul hit eight fours and one six as he amassed 74 runs in just 56 deliveries.
