At the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday, April 17, the 24th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 featured a furious contest between the Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore and the four-time champion Chennai Super Kings. After Chennai’s thrilling victory, the four-time champions’ captain, MS Dhoni, spoke up and discussed a range of subjects. MS Dhoni stepped forward to support the team’s young bowlers as Chennai came close to losing the match to Bangalore despite setting a lofty target.
“It is a challenging one for the kids, especially at this time of year when there is dew all around. But they put in a lot of effort. One of the experts is Bravo. The bowlers will feel more secure playing for him. It is a team sport. In the post-game presentation, MS Dhoni claimed that the veteran players, the coach, and the bowling coach lead the younger players.
He added, “I keep assessing from behind the wicket, I am always involved in what needs to be done rather than thinking about the result.” in reference to how he continuously attempts to assist his colleagues.
He has the ability to strike cleanly. MS Dhoni against Shivam Dube
Chennai displayed outstanding batting against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the first innings. Devon Conway gave the team a strong start, scoring 83 runs off 45 deliveries. Shivam Dube’s quick-fire innings contributed to Chennai scoring 226 runs after 20 overs as well. In the middle order, the 29-year-old hit 52 runs off just 27 deliveries to put more pressure on Bangalore.
After the game, captain MS Dhoni lauded Dube, stating, “He is someone who can hit cleanly. He struggles against fast bowlers, but he hits cleanly against spinners. He was injured when he arrived at the camp, which prevented us from implementing our plans for him. We believe he is a capable performer. More than we do, he needs to have faith in it. We can only help you so much; once you enter the field and cross the boundary ropes, you are on your own.
