On April 30, while playing for the Rajasthan Royals against the Mumbai Indians, the youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his first hundred in the competition. The 21-year-old scored 124 runs off of 62 deliveries, assisting the Rajasthan Royals in scoring 212 runs in 20 overs.
Jaiswal was highly praised by India captain Rohit Sharma, RR director of cricket and head coach Kumar Sangakkara, despite Sanju Samson’s team’s loss. The former Sri Lankan cricketer noted that Jaiswal has devoted a great deal of time to his practice sessions and is extremely dedicated, in reference to his extraordinary innings.
The 45-year-old continued by stating that Jaiswal, in addition to being talented, is extremely diligent and has the ability to acquire things very quickly. He also believes that Jaiswal will soon play for India if he continues to perform at this level in the ongoing IPL in 2023.
“He is not only extremely talented but also extremely diligent. He has spent a great deal of time preparing, including a great deal of time in the netting. Kumar Sangakkara stated in the post-match press conference, “He has worked on his game for three to four years with our team, and the results show that he is very focused and driven.”
“He performed exceptionally well today. He batted nearly the entirety of the inning, which was remarkable. He provided us with an outstanding total. Yash has a long way to go, not only with us but globally as well. He must simply continue working diligently, producing runs, and knocking on the door. The great part about Yash is that he continues to learn at a rapid rate. He has an excellent attitude. “He is extremely optimistic in everything he does,” he added.
Notably, Jaiswal has scored 428 runs in nine matches and leads the IPL Orange Cap list. In contrast, following a six-wicket loss, Rajasthan remains third in the IPL Points Table.
