Jhulan Goswami, a former India women’s pacer, has conveyed her dissatisfaction with the food at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Mumbai, and voiced her concern about the matter on Twitter.
During her playing days, Jhulan was known for her speed combined with agility as a pacer and her ability to dismantle batters with pure venom, and this is reflected in the manner in which she has referred to the hotel.
The former India veteran pacer tagged the hotel on Twitter and wrote, “Disappointed with @TajMahalMumbai’s cuisine quality—served poorly three times despite addressing it to the staff numerous times. I expected more from such a prestigious institution.

In the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL), the Mumbai Indians hired Jhulan as their bowling coach and mentor, and it worked wonderfully. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led squad defeated the Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals by seven wickets in the WPL championship match on March 26 at the Brabourne Stadium.
Jhulan Goswami’s tenure with the team during the inaugural season was extremely beneficial for the MI bowlers, as two MI players finished in the top three on the list of main wicket-takers. All-rounder Hayley Matthews collected a total of 16 wickets in ten innings at an average of 12.62 to conclude the season tied for the most wickets with Sophie Ecclestone of UP Warriorz.
Issy Wong, a rapid bowling all-rounder, landed in third place after taking 15 wickets in ten innings at an average of 14. MI’s coaching personnel included Charlotte Edwards (head coach), Lydia Greenway (fielding coach), and Devika Palshikaar (batting coach), in addition to Jhulan.
