Sunil Gavaskar criticized the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) after the crowd’s disorderly behavior disrupted the SRH vs. LSG match, saying, “Come on, the HCA can provide proper dugouts.”

On May 13, during the first innings of the 58th game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing IPL 2023, there was an altercation that some of the home team fans allegedly started by throwing objects at the LSG dugout. Because umpires had to step in, the game was stopped for a while. A portion of the LSG support personnel entered the field to defend themselves before police intervened to calm the situation.

Sunil Gavaskar, a former captain of India, criticized the Hyderabad Cricket Association for failing to provide adequate dugouts for the protection of the team’s players and support staff in a similar vein.

Both Simon Doull and Mpumelelo Mbangwa, who were on the commentary panel, spoke out against the incident.
