Heinrich Klaasen of Sunrisers Hyderabad was fined 10% of his match fee on May 13 for violating the IPL Code of Conduct during Match 58 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Heinrich Klaasen admitted to the Level 1 offense under Article 2.7 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which specifies the use of public criticism or inappropriate comment.
Heinrich Klaasen criticized the behavior of the audience, stating that it halted the team’s momentum.
In addition, he criticized the umpires’ poor decision-making. “I am dissatisfied with the throng. Not what you desire at the venue. Extremely disheartened because that halted our momentum. Not a fantastic umpiring call, but that’s part of the game,” Klaasen stated to Star Sports.
Amit Mishra of the Lucknow Super Giants has been reprimanded for violating the IPL’s Code of Conduct. Mishra admitted to committing a level 1 violation of Article 2.2 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which prohibits the misuse of apparatus during a match. Mishra agreed to the terms of the sanction. Notably, Mishra was agitated after catching Anmolpreet Singh and hurled the ball angrily while staring at the batter after the dismissal.
For Code of Conduct Level 1 violations, the match referee’s decision is final and binding.
