Meg Lanning discusses preparations for Ashes 2023, stating, “We must continue to improve to stay ahead of the game, and teams are chasing us.”

Issy Wong of England began the pre-Ashes war of words by challenging Australia and implying that Meg Lanning squad may not be as threatening as it was five years ago. In response to Wong, the Australia captain praised England’s new approach to Test cricket but emphasized that Australia remains the top-ranked team in the globe.

Meg Lanning added that the team is always striving to improve and remain ahead of the competition and other teams.

She also mentioned that this is a wonderful occasion for the visitors to evaluate and monitor their development in the longest format of the game.

Jess stated, “It’s always nice and enjoyable to win games and be in the lead, but it’s extremely difficult to stay there.”

This year, the concept of playing a Test match in India is being considered. Being in India during Christmas and New Year’s will be a novel experience for us. This will be an additional challenge, but I know our team is eagerly anticipating it,” she continued.
