Jay Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), said that the 2023 Asia Cup deadlock will be broken soon when the board presidents of Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka visit Ahmedabad for the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) final. On Sunday, May 28, the IPL final will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Shah confirmed that the heads of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) will meet in Ahmedabad during the IPL final to talk about the future of the event. The continental tournament will take place in September 2023 in Pakistan, which will also be the host country. Notably, India doesn’t want to go to Pakistan because they are worried about safety.
“The heads of the Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka Cricket Boards will be at the Tata IPL 2023 final on May 28 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
“We will talk with them to figure out the next steps for the Asia Cup in 2023,” Shah was quoted as saying by Sport star.

Earlier in May, Najam Sethi, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), said that the PCB wants an official answer from the ACC about its suggested “hybrid model” for the Asia Cup as the host. He said that the PCB is open to playing India at a neutral site, preferably in Dubai, where ticket sales would be higher and the game would make more money.
“From what I heard, there were doubts about whether or not the neutral place would be in Dubai. I didn’t want Sri Lanka to host it because I thought the money from the tickets should go to us. “The India vs. Pakistan game in Dubai, on the other hand, would have a full house and a good gate fee,” Sethi told Sportstar last week.
