Usman Khawaja, an Australian batter, said that he has faith in David Warner‘s hitting skills before the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2021–23 Final. Notably, India and Australia, who are fierce foes, have already started getting ready for the one-off test, which will start on June 7 at the Oval in London.
Before the important Test against India and the widely awaited Ashes 2023, Usman Khawaja praised Warner’s current form in the net sessions and said that Warner could get the runs for his team however he wanted.
“I have seen Warner bat in the last few days, and he is looking good. I don’t want to jinx him, but he is. I don’t think I’ve seen him look better in the nets in a while. That doesn’t always mean runs, but if Davey Warner is going to score runs, this could be the time. The Hindu reported Khawaja as saying, “He always plays his best when his back is against the wall.”
You should never count out a good player. Usman Khawaja also talked about Warner’s fantastic double century in the second Test against South Africa, when the odds were against the star hitter. Even though he didn’t do very well against India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Warner will be eager to score big runs and help win the prized mace.
“We saw when he got 200 in his 100th game, when everyone had given up on him and told him it was his last one. He went out there and got 200.”You should never count out a good player, so I am expecting runs,” Khawaja said.
Warner is expected to play in his last tour of England, as he has hinted that the Pakistan series in 2024 will be his last series before ending his long and successful Test career. The powerful Southpaw is also working hard to play in the T20 World Cup, which will be held in 2024.
