Robin Peterson, the coach of the Warriors, thinks that Tristan Stubbs and the other young players in the South African team will do well. A team should be able to play in all the ways the game can be played. When South Africa’s A team went to Sri Lanka to play two fake Test matches, Stubbs was a big help.
The first Test match was between South Africa A and Sri Lanka A. South Africa A won by 160 runs. After being out for a duck in the first match, he made an amazing comeback and scored a magnificent century in the first inning of the second match to put his team in a strong situation. He got a score of 117 out of 181 by hitting 15 fours and a six. During this tour, he was the only hitter who faced more balls than anyone else on the team.
Robin Petersonsaid that Stubbs, who is 22 years old, had done a good job of getting ready for the game against Sri Lanka.
He also said that the young player worked hard while in India for the Indian Premier League (IPL) and that the coach talked to the Mumbai Indians (MI) coaching team. He also said that the batter had done all the hard work in similar situations, so he thinks he was very ready for Sri Lanka.
“First of all, I think he was well-prepared because he trained like crazy for the IPL. “When I was in India, I could tell he was working hard, and the Mumbai Indians coaching staff told me he was putting in a lot of work,” Robin Peterson told IOL Sport in an exclusive interview.
“He was also doing all this hard work in similar conditions, so I think he was very ready to go to Sri Lanka,” he said.
Stubbs is a current player who can score quickly, in my opinion. Robin Peterson
The Warriors coach has seen Stubbs’s promise better than anyone else. He says that the young player has been put in unfair situations where people expect him to hit sixes on every ball. The 43-year-old said that Stubbs is a modern player who can score quickly, take pressure, and put it on the other team. He also said that a coach would see the promise in the fourth inning, when the team has to chase.
“I think it’s unfair that people expect him to hit sixes on every ball; he’s a much better player than that. I think he’s a modern player who can score quickly, take pressure, and pass it on, and as a coach, you know that when you’re chasing in the fourth inning with Stubbs at the plate, you’re always in with a chance.
