Pakistani batter Ahmed Shehzad gave India’s star batter Virat Kohli a lot of respect and talked about how he gets along with him. The Pakistani player also said that Kohli had done a lot for his country in Test cricket.
Ahmed Shehzad pointed out that the India hitter was quite “chubby” when he first came on the scene, but that his efforts to get better in many ways paid off well. Shehzad also talked about his friendship with Kohli and said that he and the Indian star both respect each other. Also, the second batsman has helped him whenever the Pakistani hitter asked for help. Shehzad also thinks that the hitting master hasn’t reached his full potential yet, which is an interesting fact.
“We both like and value each other. Whenever I need help with cricket, he’s been kind enough to help me. I think he is a great player. He has changed in a very big way. Shehzad said on Nadir Ali’s show that he was a bit overweight when he first came to attention at the U-19 World Cup.
“But the way he has changed himself is admirable, and not just from a cricket point of view. In Test cricket, he led India to new heights. I have never seen anyone change so quickly. I think the best is yet to come for him,” he said.
Ahmed Shehzad last match for Pakistan was against Sri Lanka in 2019.
Ahmed Shehzad hasn’t played for the Men in Green since a Twenty20 international against Sri Lanka in Lahore in 2019. The Pakistani batter has had a hard time getting back on the national team. It remains to be seen if the think tank will use his skills for the 2023 ODI World Cup, which will be held in India from October to November.
As for Kohli, he was the captain of the national team for 68 Tests, of which 40 were wins, 17 were losses, and 11 were draws, for a win rate of 58.82. He also took India to the final of the first ICC World Test Championship (WTC) in the cycle of 2019-21. The swashbuckling right-hander will next be seen in action in July when the team goes on a tour of the West Indies.
