ODI World Cup
As expected, Sri Lanka has been the most dominant team in the ODI World Cup 2023 Qualifiers, winning each of their first seven games.

They were the first team to guarantee qualifying for the 2017 ODI World Cup, which will be contested in India in October and November. The opening pair for Sri Lanka, Dimuth Karunaratne and Pathum Nissanka, have been playing well so far in the competition.

The only match Sri Lanka didn’t win handily was the one they played against the Netherlands. Dasun Shanaka’s team was rolled over for 213 runs until they held them to 192, winning by just 21 runs. Another thrilling game may be in store when the two teams square off in Harare’s championship game on Sunday, July 9.

The Netherlands team has been steered from the front by Scott Edwards. He has been successful in fostering a strong sense of self-belief among his players, and the outcomes have followed. They lost to the hosts, Zimbabwe, by six wickets to start their campaign, but they haven’t looked back since.

The Netherlands faced the West Indies in a match that was critical, and after giving up 374 runs, they appeared to be in trouble. But owing to a wonderful hundred from Teja Nidamanuru and commendable hits from Scott Edwards and Logan van Beek, they were able to force a Super Over.

Van Beek unleashed his fury in the Super Over, hitting Jason Holder 30 times for runs. West Indies’ reply was limited to 8/2 as van Beek also performed well with the ball in hand. The Netherlands currently have three victories after five games in the Super Six stage.

The spinners Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga caused a lot of trouble when these two teams last faced off, taking five wickets between them. How the Dutch hitters handle the lethal spin-bowling combo of Theekshana and Hasaranga may also determine the outcome of the game.

While Sri Lanka’s qualification for the 2023 ODI World Cup was certain, the Netherlands had to wait until their final match to secure travel arrangements to India. In their previous game, Scott Edwards and company had to chase down 278 runs in 44 overs.

Due to Bas de Leede’s exceptional performance, they reached 278 in 42.5 overs. The 23-year-old turned in an outstanding all-around effort after scoring a five-for and returning to produce a fluent hundred.

Pitch and surroundings
In Zimbabwe, the first innings’ conditions were favorable for quick bowling with the new ball. Whenever they have won the toss, captains have always chosen to bowl first. The pacers benefit from the moisture early in the day, and the new ball has been used to take several wickets.

In the most recent match at the Harare Sports Club, the West Indies fell by eight wickets after failing to contain Dasun Shanaka’s team, which needed just 34 balls to complete the target while needing 244 runs to win. A key element will be the toss.

Potential Starting XI For Sri Lanka vs. New Zealand

Sri Lanka

The preceding match between Sri Lanka and the West Indies saw Wanindu Hasaranga and Dhananjaya de Silva rest. In place of Dushan Hemantha and Sahan Arachchige, they will undoubtedly return to the side

The following players are expected to start for Sri Lanka: Pathum Nissanka, Dimuth Karunaratne, Kusal Mendis (wk), Sadeera Samarawickrama, Charith Asalanka, Dhananjaya de Silva, Dasun Shanaka (c), Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Dilshan Madushanka, and Matheesha Pathirana.

Netherlands

Unless there is a last-minute injury, the Netherlands will probably stick with the lineup that enabled them to defeat Scotland and claim a historic victory.

The following players are the probable starting eleven for the Netherlands: Vikramjit Singh, Max O’Dowd, Wesley Barresi, Bas de Leede, Teja Nidamanuru, Scott Edwards (c/wk), Saqib Zulfiqar, Logan van Beek, Ryan Klein, Aryan Dutt, and Clayton Floyd.

SL and NED Played head-to-head matches: Netherlands 0; Sri Lanka 4;
