A new head coach for the Lucknow Super Giants is named: Justin Langer

Justin Langer, a former Australian cricketer and head coach, has been chosen to lead the Lucknow Super Giants for the upcoming season. It should be noted that the team said goodbye to the previous coach, Andy Flower, earlier in the day because his two-year contract had expired. Lucknow Super Giants performed well under Flower’s leadership, as seen by their ability to advance to the playoffs in both of the IPL’s seasons (2022 and 2023).

At the men’s Ashes, Flower is assisting Australia as a consultant. However, Langer ended his tenure as the Australian cricket team’s head coach in 2022. The illustrious opener is presently broadcasting the ongoing Ashes 2023.

According to the most recent information about the Lucknow Super Giants team, they used a brief message on Twitter to announce Langer’s appointment.

A few minutes before the announcement, the franchise’s social media account gave fans a hint by sharing a collage of American actor and musician Justin Timberlake with people eating at a “Langar” (feast).

Notably, Justin Langer resigned from his position as Australia’s head coach after allegedly receiving an insulting six-month contract extension despite leading the team to their first-ever T20 World Cup victory in 2021. Additionally, there were rumors that Langer’s connection with some of the team’s veteran players had broken down.

When Justin Langer announced his departure, a number of his former teammates, including Mark Waugh, Adam Gilchrist, Ricky Ponting, Steve Waugh, Matthew Hayden, and the late Shane Warne, came to his defense and retaliated against Cricket Australia for their mistreatment of him.
