A new technical committee has been created by the Pakistan Cricket Board to work closely with Chairman Zaka Ashraf on cricket-related matters. Notably, Misbah-ul-Haq, a former cricket player, will be in charge of this new committee, which also includes Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez, two of his former colleagues.
Unusual power will be held by the committee, which will also decide how Pakistani domestic cricket would be organised. They will also have the authority to name new selection committees, coaching staff, and other high-profile positions that typically the chairman does. They will also actively participate in enhancing the playing conditions and infrastructure.
The CTC (Cricket Technical Committee) will offer recommendations on cricket-related issues, such as the overall domestic structure, scheduling, playing conditions, the appointment of the national selection committees, the appointment of national team coaches, central and domestic contracts, and plans for the development of umpires, referees, and curators. The CTC will have the authority to invite more cricket experts, and it would be required to provide regular reports to the chairman of the PCB Management Committee.
Ashraf welcomes new hires to the PCB structure. Misbah, Inzamam, and Hafeez were greeted by PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf, who expressed his joy at their inclusion. He outlined how their presence would advance Pakistan cricket and disclosed that they would be serving as committee members.
“I’m excited to have Misbah-ul-Haq, Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Mohammad Hafeez on board to help our nation’s cricket programme. These three previous captains are quite knowledgeable about the game of cricket and are aware of the demands of contemporary cricket.
“The domestic cricket system is the foundation of any cricketing nation. Its structure must be progressive and impenetrable. The presence of Misbah, Inzamam, and Hafeez, three of Pakistan’s most illustrious and accomplished cricketers who rose through the domestic ranks, would aid us in ensuring that our players have the ideal environment to thrive and develop into the best cricketers possible, Zaka Ashraf said.
