Harry Brook isn’t going to make the World Cup team, according to Eoin Morgan.

The major event, the ODI World Cup 2023, is scheduled to start on October 5 and the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) have announced their provisional team for the next competition. Many people were very surprised to see that young Harry Brook was left off the roster when the squad was revealed. With his record across forms, Brook, who is 24 years old and one of the most promising young players in cricket, was not a part of the provisional team.

Harry Brook might not have made the team because all-rounder Ben Stokes decided to come out of retirement to play in the World Cup.

Eoin Morgan, a former English captain, held a similar viewpoint. When a club has depth in its lineup, like Morgan claimed he could not fit Brook into the lineup under any circumstances.

“There are extremely good players that are left out of really good teams who have a lot of talent, but mostly a lot of success. I can’t fit Harry Brook into the squad when I look at the one that has been chosen. just due to the addition of another middle-order player with Ben Stokes’ return. You do need a top-order player to be a genuine replacement if someone in the top order gets hurt without him bowling, Eoin Morgan told Sky Sports.

Morgan also emphasized the value of the bowling attack and how an extra batter will fill the role of the extra spinner.

“You need two seamers and an extra spinner, which they have cover for, but an extra batter in amongst that, I just can’t fit Harry Brook in, which is amazing to say,” he continued.

It is important to note that England will play New Zealand in their World Cup opener. New Zealand won the 2019 World Cup. On October 5, the first match of the league will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad between the two teams.
