At the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2023, India and Sri Lanka are currently playing their fourth encounter in Colombo. India only have a 214-run target to defend, so Jasprit Bumrah, who recently made his international cricket comeback after an 11-month absence, bowled with a lot of force. However, the Gujarat bowler almost twisted his ankle while attempting to turn around and appeal on the follow-through, giving the Indian cricket fans a heart-in-mouth moment.
The event occurred after Bumrah produced a strong inswinger to Pathum Nissanka on the fourth ball of Sri Lanka’s innings in the ongoing match. In order to pick up a brace, the right-handed batter closed his bat face and moved the ball towards the leg side. Without displaying any symptoms of difficulty, Bumrah took his time and finished the over.
Heart in mouth moment for Indian fans as Jasprit Bumrah lands awkwardly on his ankle.
He’s bowling fine after that 🤞

Fortunately for the Indians, he continued to dismiss Nissanka in his subsequent over of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 match with a peach of a delivery. Jasprit Bumrah returned the skilled Kusal Mendis in his fourth over with the slower, dipping delivery. Bumrah left the pitch for a few overs following his impressive five-over performance to go into the changing room, maybe for medical attention.
Jasprit Bumrah made a comeback following his injury by leading Team India on their tour of Ireland.
In the T20I series against Ireland, the 29-year-old made his return to international cricket. He travelled to Europe with a reserve team and won all three games 2-0. Jasprit Bumrah had a fantastic season and was voted Player of the Series after taking four wickets in just two games.
Bumrah bowled a brilliant session with the new ball on September 11 and was able to dismiss Imam-ul-Haq with a lovely delivery. India’s chances in the current Asia Cup and the upcoming ODI World Cup depend heavily on the star bowler.
