Pakistan On October 3, a team will compete in its quarterfinal at the Pingfeng Cricket Field of Zhejiang University of Technology in Hangzhou. Prior to the competition, the team had a five-day training camp at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.
Akram voiced his enthusiasm for taking the team’s captaincy at the Asian Games.
The 20-year-old is confident that the team that recently won the ACC Emerging Asia Cup would repeat its success in the next games. The young man wants the team to perform at its highest level for Pakistan A as it makes its first trip to China.
It is a privilege for me to captain the team at the Asian Games. Akram was reported by pcb.com.pk as stating, “I am looking forward to the same performance from the players in the next games. The players have done well in the past, winning the ACC Emerging Asia Cup lately.
“We have a strong combination and have gone through intensive training to get ready for any difficulties spinning wickets may bring. We are thus prepared for the challenge. We will keep things extremely straightforward and focus on winning games for the nation because this will be our first journey to China. I’ll encourage the supporters to continue cheering on the Shaheens team at the Asian Games,” he continued.
