With outstanding performances in each match the team has played in so far, Team India’s World Cup 2023 campaign has been nearly faultless. The hosts appear committed to winning the much sought-after trophy. But it appears that the team has suffered a serious setback after Rohit Sharma, the captain, gave the players a scare about an injury.
India chose to bowl first against New Zealand in game 21 of the tournament.
However, the first innings could have ended disastrously when skipper Rohit Sharma had to leave the field in the tenth over.
Daryl Mitchell drove the final delivery from Mohammed Siraj’s tenth over onto mid-off. Rohit, however, may have harmed himself when he dove to intercept the ball. KL Rahul served as the interim captain as an update on the issue was still pending.
