The ODI World Cup 2023 is already well under way, and the spectators have been treated to a lot of exciting moments thus far. On Sunday, October 22, at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, India and New Zealand played in game 21 of the tournament.
In the 24th over of the first innings, the Black Caps put on an outstanding performance of cricket spirit when they had the opportunity to score extra runs because of an overthrow. While the crowd applauded, Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell decided against it. When Rachin Ravindra attempted to cut the ball to cover point with the second ball of the 24th over from Ravindra Jadeja, Suryakumar Yadav successfully stopped the ball.
His throw did not go as planned, though. When the ball was thrown, New Zealand was given the opportunity for an additional run through the overthrow. Both batters, though, decided against it.
In the ODI World Cup 2023, both India and New Zealand want to continue their winning streaks.
In terms of both teams’ performances thus far in the ODI World Cup 2023, it is important to note that both India and New Zealand are unbeaten at the moment. India, coached by Rohit Sharma, has defeated every opponent they have faced thus far in the competition, including Bangladesh, Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Australia.
On the other hand, New Zealand has also been performing superbly in the ODI World Cup 2023.
