KL Rahul emphasizes the importance of mental training.

Six months ago, KL Rahul sustained an injury at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium that required surgery and kept him out of action for a significant portion of international cricket. Rahul could afford to joke about it now that he was back as a regular member of the Indian team, although sardonically.

At the pre-match news conference on the eve of India’s match against England, KL Rahul responded jokingly, “I am trying to forget; you are reminding me again and again.”

“I cannot claim that it has left my thoughts. My only memory of this place when I first awoke yesterday was falling and hurting myself. In order to forget everything, I hope to put that behind me and create some better, happier experiences,” he continued.

KL Rahul acknowledged that part of the effort he’s put into dealing with a challenging year overall has been thinking such negative thoughts. In an open admission, he disclosed that a significant portion of his recent preparations involved mental training.

“I’ve worked so hard on this. I attempted to handle it. For a long time, I didn’t think outside noise would bother me, but in the past year or so, it has. I then realized that I would need to put some effort into it. And I tried to focus on that aspect when I had free time, away from the game; mentally, you had to become much tougher and more resilient. That certainly made it easier for me to stay away from the game,” Rahul remarked.

It comes after captain Rohit Sharma admitted that he used his own strategy to avoid social media. Rahul repeated the ideas. “Same,” he repeated, “and then there are experts, like bowling, batting, and hitting specialists, as well as specialized mental coaches that you can really use and work on if you think it will help.” I therefore gave it a go at everything.”

KL Rahul disclosed that the team’s atmosphere contributed to their significant progress in the current World Cup.

“I believe that the fielding medal videos are just one thing that you are seeing, or the fans outside are seeing; they are seeing a side of cricketers that they may not have seen previously, but one thing is that the atmosphere has been one of cricket enjoyment since I returned to the team from the Asia Cup. Everyone is quite content right now. We are aware that pressure will always be present when we breach a border. The wisest course of action, however, is to step outside the field. We can still make an effort to have fun and maintain our composure.”

According to him, the deliberate team composition and tactics are what have added an extra layer of spice to India’s campaign.

“It’s just that we’ve been acting so aggressively,” Additionally, since I’ve rejoined the team since the Asia Cup, at the very least, our preparations have been excellent, precise, and flawless.

“In my opinion, the players have had ample opportunity and time to develop into their specific roles. So, yes, KL Rahul believe that also comes down to preparedness. We are incredibly well-prepared. Thus, that explains the source of the confidence.”

Personally, after his brilliant performance in the victory over Australia, KL Rahul contributions with the bat may not have been as much needed as they could have been, but he has drawn attention with his abilities behind the stumps, which he mentioned was the most important aspect of his recovery from the injury.

“I did concentrate a lot on wicket keeping in addition to my batting during the process of becoming fitter as well. The NCA medical staff believed that wicket keeping would be more challenging than batting because to the nature of my condition. My fitness and wicket keeping are the two areas where I’ve put in a lot more effort. Batting came next, so that was the order. I therefore put a lot of effort into improving my wicket-keeping abroad, and I have continued to do so even since returning here. That seems like it would take a little more time and work on my part.

Yes, it’s just as easy as learning any other skill. I am taking wicket-keeping seriously because in these conditions in India, it will be important to have your technique right and your glove work right. I am trying to check all of those boxes so I can do my best as a wicket-keeper as well. The more you do, the harder you work on it, the more likely you are to do well,” he said.

KL Rahul believes that for India to succeed, they must demonstrate their might when they bat first.

They have won five of their five games thus far when chasing, and KL Rahul was excited about what might come next.

“So whatever opportunities we’ve gotten we’ve done well but again it will be a good opportunity if we get to bat first before the next stage and in the next four games if we can get to bat first it’ll be a good challenge for us to just see how to pace the innings and it’s been some time since we’ve batted first, so it will be useful for the team.”
