The India cricket team has won each of their first six games in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, demonstrating their dominance thus far. On Sunday, October 29 in Lucknow, the team captained by Rohit Sharma crushed the reigning champions England by an overwhelming 100 runs to secure the top spot in the points table.
India is nearly guaranteed a spot in the tournament’s semi-finals after winning all of their current matches. But, after all 10 clubs have completed their nine games in the league round, their semifinal opponents will be announced.
Notably, the first semifinal will have a match between the teams that finished first and fourth, and the second semifinal will feature a matchup between the teams that finished second and third. In addition, a reserve day has been scheduled for both semi-finals. Fans want to know where the Men-in-Blue will play their semi-final as they go closer to securing their spot in the semi-final.
India, regardless of their standing on the Points Table, will play in the semifinal in Mumbai.
Notably, the International Cricket Council (ICC) made it clear when announcing the World Cup 2023 schedule that India would play in the first semi-final on November 15 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, regardless of their position on the points table, should they advance to that stage.
Due to Pakistan’s unwillingness to play in Mumbai, if the Rohit Sharma-led squad advances to the semi-final, they would square off in the second semifinal on November 16 at Eden Gardens Kolkata.
India, meanwhile, leads the points table after winning all six of their current matches and accruing 12 points. They will be keen to secure their semi-final berth with another victory when they take on Sri Lanka on Thursday, November 02 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
