Litton Das of Bangladesh departed India during the 2023 ODI World Cup and returned to Dhaka for personal reasons. It’s still unclear why he returned to his native country. Reports, however, have indicated that he is probably going to be available for their upcoming match against Sri Lanka, which is slated to take place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on November 6.
Litton Das may have been compelled to quit in the middle because, according to sources, he and his wife are expecting their first child.
With respect to form, the star batter has done fairly well in the tournament thus far, scoring 235 runs, including two half-centuries. It is understood, meanwhile, that the cricket player will return to the home country on November 3, three days before the match in New Delhi.
“Litton took a leave of absence due to a family emergency and will join the team ahead of the teams’ training session scheduled on November 3 in Delhi,” The Daily Star reported Rabeed Imam, the media and communications manager for the Bangladesh Cricket Board, as saying.
Bangladesh dashes their ambitions of making the semi-final.
There have been numerous outstanding individual efforts from the team captained by Shakib Al Hasan. Mahmudullah, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Shoriful Islam, and Mustafizur Rahman are a few well-known figures. That hasn’t assisted the team in securing a spot in the tournament’s knockout rounds, as they have already been eliminated after suffering six straight losses in their first seven games.
The team has little chance of making it to the semi-finals since they are presently ranked seventh on the points table. Their next two games are therefore still a toss-up. But the opposition, Australia and Sri Lanka, are important because they may win and advance.
