The 35-year-old made sure Australia didn’t have any problems when they lost seven wickets in 100 runs. With flawless assistance from captain Pat Cummins on the other end, Maxwell unleashed a carnage on Afghanistan that would leave them cold for eternity.
Afghanistan was trying to stay in the semi-finals until Ibrahim Zadran’s 129* off 143 helped them score 291 runs earlier in the game.
