Australia’s chances of winning the ODI World Cup 2023 were eliminated after they lost their opening two games. After losing to South Africa and India in their opening two games, the Pat Cummins-led team turned things around in their next nine games, winning nine straight to win the trophy in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Australia held the Men in Blue to 240 runs on the finals night and easily chased it down to claim their sixth ODI world title in history. With the bat, Glenn Maxwell hit the game-winning runs to give the Kangaroos the victory. Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne were outstanding. Opening player David Warner took to X following the game to poke fun at the doubters and remind them that Australia is a team not to be taken lightly.
Did you witness that, though? Australia, come on, we did. Warner tweeted, “0-2 and written off.”
Well did you see that happening?? We did, come on Australia. 0-2 and written off 👍👍 pic.twitter.com/8Jz3ZztPIF

It is really amazing to bowl India out for 240 in the final. David Warner
The seasoned cricket player praised the bowlers for keeping India’s total run score at only 240. On the last night, Mitchell Starc claimed three wickets, while Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood each claimed two. India appeared to be under extreme strain for most of the first innings against Australia because of their outstanding bowling. Warner also praised Travis Head, his opening partner, for his 137 runs, which effectively eliminated India from the game.
“Our bowlers were outstanding; they established the tone right away.” The fielding confirmed it. It is simply amazing to bowl India out for 240 in the final. In the changing area, there was a hint of tense tension. We were moving around a lot. However, Marnus (Labuschagne) and Trav (Head) made a really smart team. Warner remarked following the game, “What a comeback that was from Head, especially coming back from injury; that was fantastic.”
