On Thursday, December 21, India’s performance in the ODI series finale against South Africa was outstanding. With a 1-1 record going into the match, both teams had everything on the line in the previous game.
Sanju Samson, who got his first international century with 108 off 114, was the star of the show as the Men in Blue batted first and put on an amazing display. India amassed a respectable 296 runs in their allocated 50 overs because of Samson’s knock.
Because of his heroics, Samson was also named Player of the Match, and he astounded captain KL Rahul. Rahul praised Samson, the hitter from Kerala, saying it was good to see him take most of his opportunity with Team India.
After the game, K.L. Rahul gave a speech. “Sanju has been a phenomenal performer in the IPL; unfortunately, he hasn’t gotten a lot of chances at the top of the order for various reasons but it’s nice to see him do well today,” Khan stated.
I’ve always loved hanging with the boys. KL Rahul
Rahul also mentioned the feeling of relief he felt upon returning to the field following a dismal performance in the 2023 ODI World Cup. He also emphasized how crucial it is to let the younger players on the team to play the position for which they are most qualified.
Always like spending time with the boys. After a frustrating world cup, it’s good to be back playing cricket. I’ve played with several of them in the Indian Premier League; it’s good to be here and play with them. My usual advice is to always have fun, give it your all, and not care about the score. Although many of them are excellent cricket players, it’s important to give them some time to get used to their new roles. Nothing more I can expect of them; they all gave it their all and it’s about them clarifying their duties,” Rahul remarked.
