“If she gets tanned, nobody will marry her.” Smriti Mandhana gives her parents credit for stifling criticism during her cricket career.

Prominent Indian batter Smriti Mandhana reflected on her career trajectory in cricket and the difficulties she has encountered. Additionally, she mentioned how many individuals had previously made fun of her parents.

Film legend Amitabh Bachchan hosted the quiz-based reality show “Kaun Banega Crorepati 15,” where Mandhana and men’s wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan made appearances. He questioned Smriti Mandhana about her experience playing cricket during the show.

It appears from Mr. Computer that you come from a cricket-loving family. What sums up your experience in the sport?” inquired Bachchan.

“Yes, sir,” was her response. Cricket was a childhood pastime for both my father and brother. It was also Dad’s dream. His family did not give him the go-ahead to play the sport. He aspired for at least one of his kids to play cricket and represent India.”

“I believe it began when I was still inside my mother’s womb. Mostly, I would practice by getting the ball for my brother. He was behind the nets, and I watched him learn how to bat. I’m a righty, actually. However, I learned how to bat left-handed from my brother because I would just watch him from behind the net. I believe that’s how I got into cricket,” she continued.

Subsequently, Big B inquired about the difficulties the 27-year-old cricket player had encountered throughout her career. Smriti Mandhana attributes all of her success to her parents, saying they have supported her since the start of her profession.

“Sir, I had to practice with boys a lot when I started playing women’s cricket because there weren’t many girls playing at the time.
