In 115 Twenty20 international games, Kohli has amassed over 4000 runs at an average of 52.73 and a strike rate of 137.96. In the T20 Asia Cup in 2022, he achieved his highest score in this format against Afghanistan, amassing an undefeated 122 off just 61 deliveries.
Even with his remarkable average and higher strike rate than many of his peers, the side is still concerned about Kohli’s inability to play against spin in the middle overs. Notably, if the squad is looking past the 35-year-old, the selectors may have discussed this with him.
