The 27th game of the ongoing ILT20 2024 saw a great match between the Desert Vipers and the Dubai Capitals. On Friday, February 9, both teams faced off at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Capitals needed 13 runs in the last over to win the game, so it came down to the wire.
When Ali Naseer, a young player, was given the chance to bowl the last over, he did it pretty valiantly. The outstanding performance by Zimbabwean star Sikandar Raza helped the Capitals win the match, as they needed six runs to win off the final ball.
Sikandar Raza orchestrated his team’s triumph by partnering with Sam Billings for 79 runs in 54 balls at the fourth wicket and Dasun Shanaka for 40 runs in 23 balls at the fifth wicket.
The standout all-rounder contributed to the Capitals’ five-wicket victory by hitting the game’s last ball for a six-over long-on. After finishing his inning with 60* runs in 45 deliveries, Raza was named Player of the Match.

The Dubai Capitals are still rising in the ILT20 standings.
In the 27th match of the ILT20 2024, the Desert Vipers faced the Dubai Capitals, and the Vipers batted first. Phil Salt and Alex Hales scored 26 and 66 runs, respectively, to give the team a strong start.
But after the opener’s ferocity, the Capitals’ outstanding bowling eliminated the remaining hitters. The top wicket takers were Olly Stone and Roelof van der Merwe, both with two wickets; Scott Kuggeleijn, Haider Ali, and Sikandar Raza also each had one wicket.
Tom Banton and Max Holden gave the Vipers a terrible start as they attempted to chase down the 172 runs that the Capitals had set as their objective. Banton scored 15 runs, while Holden scored eight.
In addition, Sikandar Raza added 60 runs to captain Sam Billings‘ 57 runs in 36 deliveries, helping the Capitals win the game by five wickets and secure their fourth victory of the year.
