When this concept was put up, I was the BCCI secretary, and we all supported Lalit wholeheartedly. We granted him complete freedom during the democratic process. He gave birth to the IPL, which was his kid. Obviously, we had no idea at the time how huge of a success it would become. Now that we know. In an exclusive interview with RevSportz, he praised Lalit for the significant change that the IPL has brought about.

“I express my gratitude to the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) members for their nearly forty years of support and encouragement. We were a little unit, so it is a story of accomplishment that we have grown over time to become a well-known one for so many reasons. We are a significant player in domestic cricket and a Test venue. Gaining the Ranji Trophy is the greatest accomplishment. We built the infrastructure that made this possible. We have about 20–30 practice pitches in addition to five excellent grounds. Our players that rose to prominence in India are Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravindra Jadeja. I’ve achieved our SCA’s goals,” he continued.
