Gujarat Titans announce Sandeep Warrier as Mohammed Shami’s replacement in the IPL 2024

On March 22, the 17th Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) is scheduled to kick off. As the main tournament draws near, the ten franchises will strive to deliver their finest games. With Shubman Gill leading the Gujarat Titans, they would be among the heavy favorites to win the championship.

But as the competition draws near, Mohammed Shami—the Titans’ star player—will not be present. The side will suffer greatly from the fiery pacer’s absence, but Sandeep Warrier was announced as Shami’s replacement before the start of the season, suggesting they are prepared. The Amroha-based pacer is currently recuperating from surgery that he had previously had for a heel issue.

Sandeep Warrier, whose basic pay is INR 50 lacs, will be joining the team.

In addition, the Mumbai Indians, who have won five titles, included Kwena Maphaka in the lineup to take Dilshan Madushanka’s spot. Maphaka recently represented South Africa at the U19 World Cup and was awarded player of the tournament; the Sri Lankan international has been ruled out of the IPL owing to injury.
