Following Bengaluru’s defeat at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, questions were raised about the bowling squad of the Royal Challenge Bangalore (RCB), with former England captain Michael Vaughan voicing scepticism over the team’s chances of winning the current IPL 2024 season. With only two points from three games—despite a recent victory against Punjab—this setback was RCB’s second loss, sending them down to sixth place in the standings.
In the eagerly awaited match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), KKR emerged victorious by seven wickets with an astounding 19 balls remaining.
RCB’s outstanding undefeated innings of 83 runs off 59 deliveries helped them to a respectable total of 182/6 in the 20 overs that were allocated to them during the contest. But in their chase, KKR was unstoppable, reaching the target at 186/3 in just 16.5 overs. With an incredible all-around effort, Sunil Narine took one wicket for forty runs and scored 47 runs off of just 22 balls, earning him the title of Player of the Match.
The former English captain Michael Vaughan said on his “X” account, “It is impossible to win the IPL with this bowling attack.”
