Before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season officially began, a lot of eyes were focused on famous Australian pacer Mitchell Starc, whom the Kolkata Knight Riders signed for an incredible INR 24.75 crore. Many thought Starc was playing at the highest level possible. He was not, however, able to get off to the tournament’s ideal start.
Starc had a disappointing start to the tournament, bowling a total of eight overs for 100 runs without taking a single wicket, even though Kolkata managed to stay undefeated in the competition.
After giving up 25 runs in three overs for two wickets, Mitchell Starc did, however, take his first IPL 2024 wicket in his third match of the season against the Delhi Capitals.
In regards to his current play, Starc acknowledged that he had not expected his results from the opening two games. He did mention the importance of luck in Twenty20 cricket.
“In T20 cricket, we all need a little bit of luck to win. A couple edges pass by, a catch is missed, and you move on quite quickly because the matches come thick and fast. Yes, that wasn’t exactly how I had hoped to start, but the important thing is that we have been winning games. Three to none. Additionally, I believe we played fairly well tonight with bat and ball, Starc stated following the game.

“In T20 cricket, it can be extremely harsh on the bowlers at times. I believe some of the scores that we’ve seen on some of the grounds… Thus, it is true that you occasionally rely on luck. Yes, we were pretty clinical with the bat and ball tonight, and we started the season three to none. “The team’s start has been fantastic, personal matters notwithstanding,” he continued.
