"I'd have been watching him closely if I had been the selector." Irfan Pathan on Shivam Dube's prospects of making the T20 World Cup squad
Speaking about Shivam Dube’s selection in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup scheduled for June, is former cricketer Irfan Pathan. Dube stood out with his incredible 45 off 24 even though CSK lost their most recent matchup against SRH in Hyderabad.

Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan commented on Shivam Dube’s selection for the India T20 World Cup squad in an exclusive interview with Star Sports on the Cricket Live Show. “I would definitely select; if I were the selector, I would be keeping a close eye on him,” Pathan said. He is truly killing the spinners, so I would include him in the T20 World Cup team. He’s not going to have to go out there and attempt to set himself up against turners.

“And we’ve seen him against good wrist and finger spinners in both the previous season and this IPL,” the author said. And why wouldn’t you want to take advantage of a batter like that? Not that he’s not a good batter against quick bowlers, either. Many people have forgotten that he is from Mumbai. Additionally, there is a lot of bounce in Mumbai. He is, therefore, not as horrible. Yuvraj Singh was correct, as you know, when he made his statement.

“He ought to be there, in my opinion. After all, who among the cricket players can truly play throughout the middle overs, complete the game, and literally finish the spinners? We have Rinku Singh and Hardik Pandya. Is Rishabh Pant present, if he’s well enough to play? However, we have observed some limitations in Rishabh’s performance if you bowl him outside the off-stump unless he uses the switch hit. Well, who else is present? When it comes to striking and actually finishing and killing the spinners, I don’t think any other player comes close to Shivam Dubey.

When discussing Shivam Dube as the player to watch in the IPL this season for India’s T20 World Cup campaign, Matthew Hayden observed, “The conditions don’t bounce a lot.” I am aware that the opening match between India and Pakistan will take place in New York, but in general, power hitters who enjoy hitting the ball at these kinds of ranges can truly dominate in the Caribbean.

So, that’s actually a very intriguing idea. Furthermore, because of the pressure, blending in, and joint performances, Indian selection and the IPL go hand in hand. When they realize that Shivam Dube might be included, Yuvraj Singh and Irfan Pathan’s eyes brighten. I believe this is an intriguing call that is definitely worth keeping an eye on. Not only did he do it last year, but he’s not doing it this season either. For a very long time, he has been doing it. He was excellent last year as well.

“I still believe that as a bowler, just T20 bowler Pat Cummins is not that great,” Irfan Pathan said in regards to Sunrisers Hyderabad’s management and Pat Cummins. However, he has been an excellent leader for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Even for Australia, he hasn’t exactly lit the cricket world on fire in T20 matches. Finding a suitable leader, however, was what Sunrisers Hyderabad needed to achieve. I felt that Sunrisers Hyderabad’s camp had too many selectors the previous season.

They didn’t impart that idea to specific players, which is what happened. However, this season, based on the games and the home games as well, they appear to have a clear vision. As you correctly pointed out, there’s a lot of pressure and the game moves rapidly, so the fact that they’re truly moving in one direction is crucial for any franchise cricket team. Therefore, you need a capable leader, and Pat Cummins is a fantastic leader, in my opinion.

“He had the right preparation; even in the games against the Mumbai Indians, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was finished with the right preparation. He also brought himself in at the point when Bhuvneshwar Kumar finished. This planning worked quite well, even today when we won the toss and pursued. due to their temptation to bat first. Since they all took the same action against Mumbai, everyone was claiming that. He didn’t, though. He had a great understanding of the pitch.

“He also ensured that Jaydev Unadkat arrived to bowl in the middle of the inning. Next, he genuinely bowled into the pitch himself. Silently, he’s asking other bowlers to “come on, bowl like me or bowl into the pitch.” Additionally, everyone is following their own lead. In addition, I’ve heard nothing but good things from the Sunrisers Hyderabad youth, who all seem to be much more laid-back this year. This is due to the manner in which he’s genuinely allowing for free flow. Additionally, the leadership group says that. For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Daniel Vettori and Pat Cummins get along well.”

According to Matthew Hayden, who discussed Abhishek Sharma, “As experts, we always find it hard to understand the difference between strike rate and aggregate average, and this is actually a clear indication of a good decision for a man of the match.” Because it requires bravery, dedication, talent, and whatever other criteria you can think of for someone to enter a short-run pursuit and have a strike rate of 308. I believe Pat was the better bowler of the game despite his superb captaincy tonight. A captain is only as good as his cattle, and Pat’s livestock are fast bowlers who must pace off the ball.”

In his remarks regarding Ruturaj Gaikwad’s captaincy and CSK’s batting order, Irfan Pathan stated, “I mentioned in the Hindi commentary as well that Mukesh and Deepak Chahar’s true power is when they bowl with the new ball. Therefore, Ruturaj Gaikwad’s task of bringing Maheesh Theekshana under attack must be extremely difficult. Travis Head is the reason that temptation would have existed.

Actually, I would have argued in favor of giving Maheesh Theekshana the chance to bowl—Matthew Hayden made this point. That might allow Mukesh to take a little breather and force him to bowl later. to recognize where the pressure is left, given that Mukesh excels with the new ball and, yes, he hasn’t played first-class cricket in a very long time—15 months.

The other reason, in my opinion, that Mahendra Singh Dhoni, other than Moeen Ali, could have batted up the order is the match-up, facing off against Jaydev Unadkat and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He has performed admirably against them both, particularly in the latter part of the match. In addition, a right-hander facing a left-hander would have found it simpler to hit on the leg side at that angle when Pat Cummins bowled into the pitch as opposed to a left-hander, as we saw with Ravindra Jadeja, who ultimately failed to get going.

Regarding Ruturaj Gaikwad’s captaincy, Matthew Hayden stated, “There were a few decision-making errors. Although Moeen Ali, an all-rounder, did a good job with the ball in the end, he ought to have been batted higher in the order. It was appropriate to issue him a license. They were not keeping up with that power play. Their power play performance was 1 for 49. Therefore, in my opinion, Moeen Ali could have given them a boost of bravery and optimism.

They could have easily bowled Theekshana directly to Travis Head with the ball, in my opinion. It’s a fantastic contest. Save that until the fourth over, please. During the second over, he went for plenty. Therefore, in my opinion, it would have been wiser for Theekshana to take Travis Head head-on. That’s why some quick thinking was required. However, I don’t think it’s ever easy to be around MS Dhoni—I’m not saying that’s because of him. Still, it is what it is. He is called Thala. As a result, Ruturaj Gaikwad would be under that kind of strain, and he might need to react and make decisions a little bit quicker and sharper.”
