In the 23rd match of the current Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday, April 9, Sunrisers Hyderabad almost avoided defeat against Punjab Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur. When Punjab came to bat first, the visitors had a poor start because their top order was unable to score many runs.
But Hyderabad’s victory was largely due to all-around player Nitish Kumar Reddy’s knock. Reddy led his team to a first-inning total of 182 runs with 64 runs in 37 deliveries after coming into the bat. His performance with the ball was impressive as well.

Reddy bowled three overs in the second inning, giving up 33 runs and getting one wicket. The all-rounder’s performance pleased Pat Cummins, the skipper of SRH. In response to Reddy’s performance versus PBKS, the Australian pacer spoke up.
He was outstanding in the field, bowled three overs, and went straight to the top of the order throughout this match. ESPNcricinfo cited Cummins as saying, “It was amazing to get us to 180 off his bat.”
I see it as a significant contribution to both my team and myself. Nitish Kumar Reddy
In addition, the man of the moment, Nitish Kumar Reddy, seized the mic and discussed his performance versus Punjab. The 20-year-old declared that he was glad to be a part of the victory and disclosed that his strategy was to pursue the spinner while being careful when facing the pacers.
“I think it makes a significant impact for both my team and me. I’ve been telling myself over and over again that I need to have confidence in myself and support the squad. I was reluctant to bowl against the seamers since they were bowling so well. Nitish Kumar Reddy stated, “I wanted to attack them when the spinners came on, and that’s what I did.”
Hyderabad’s third victory of the season came against Punjab. With six points from five games, SRH stayed in fifth place in the IPL points standings, while the Punjab Kings are in sixth.
