Captain of the Delhi Capitals (DC) Rishabh Pant resumed his incredible form in the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) on Friday, April 12 in Lucknow, when he produced an outstanding innings of 41 (24) against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Pant entered the batting with his team at 63/2 after seven overs. He and Jake Fraser-McGurk had a vital 77-run partnership off of just 46 balls for the third wicket.
The southpaw was at his most explosive throughout his innings, hitting two sixes and four fours to help DC chase down 168 in 18.1 overs. Everyone was stunned by one of Pant’s shots when, in the 12th over against Marcus Stoinis, he skillfully played a “reverse ramp” to gather a boundary.
Stoinis produced a complete delivery that was just outside off stump as he raced in to bowl the fourth ball of the over. But even before the ball was released, Pant had already positioned himself to play his signature reverse ramp, which he did with such ease, blasting the ball straight to third man for a boundary.
The wicketkeeper batter’s daring to play such strokes with such comfort at any point in the game left even pundits Deep Dasgupta and Sunil Gavaskar dumbfounded.
