On April 15, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) squared off in Match 30 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
RCB captain Faf du Plessis was seen explaining to SRH captain Pat Cummins at the toss how the coin was flipped by the toss referee in Bengaluru’s previous match against Mumbai Indians (MI). After seeing du Plessis’ example, Cummins responded by making a commitment. Interestingly, RCB invited Hyderabad to bat first after winning the toss.
After dropping their first five IPL 2024 games, RCB needs to defeat SRH.
To be in the running for the playoffs, Royal Challengers Bengaluru are keen to defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the IPL 2024, RCB is now at the bottom of the points table after losing five of their six matches thus far, while SRH is in fourth place after winning three of their five matches.
In their head-to-head record against their southern rivals, RCB has won 10 games and SRH has won twelve, with one match staying indefinitely tied. Hyderabad’s greatest score against Bengaluru is 231, while RCB’s highest total against SRH is 227. Furthermore, RCB has defeated the 2016 champs in three of their previous five games. RCB defeated SRH by eight wickets in their most recent IPL 2023 match because to a magnificent century from former skipper Virat Kohli off just 63 balls.

While SRH has a lot of quality in both the bowling and batting departments, RCB is mainly dependent on Kohli, who is leading the race for the Orange Cap. For the three-time finalists in the current competition, veteran wicketkeeper-battler Dinesh Karthik has also emerged as a key player. Furthermore, in order for RCB to win, the bowlers and remaining hitters must both greatly improve.
